highlighted Features of the KitchenAid Artisan Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

Speed Control

One of the most outshining features of the KitchenAid is perhaps its variety in speed control. The mixer features about 10-speed slide controls which allow you to perform a number of different functions. The functions according to speeds ranging from a slow stir to a heavy mixing and beating. This means you can whip cream as well as knead your dough with the same machine due to this amazing feature.

The KitchenAid boasts of a number of accessories that can be easily attached to the mixer to perform different functions.

The attached accessories with the mixer are:

  1. Nylon Coated Flat Beater: for mixing cookie dough, cake batter and for mashing potatoes etc.
  2. Nylon Coated Dough Hook: for mixing and kneading the dough.
  3. Wire Whip: for whipping creams, egg whites, etc.
  4. 1 Piece Pouring Shield: to help you in adding ingredients without making a mess.

All these accessories are durable, corrosion resistant and dishwasher safe.

59 Point Planetary Mixing Action

The KitchenAid features an innovative technology called the 59-point planetary mixing action. This essentially indicates there are about 59 touch-points per rotation around the bowl. How is this a benefit? Well, the 59 touch points per rotation allow for thorough mixing of the ingredients to the consistency you desire.

All the attachments can rotate around the bowl for comprehensive bowl mixing while ensuring they cover as much area of the bowl as possible.

Power Hub

With the Powerhub, your mixer can turn into the Superman of all mixers. The Power Hub allows you to turn your kitchen counter into an all-purpose mini kitchen. It allows you to attach a wide variety of attachments that will help you achieve culinary miracles.

These attachments may include:

  • Citrus Juicer
  • Grain Mill
  • Ice Cream Maker
  • circle
  • circle
    Shredder and Slicer
  • circle
    Food Grinder
  • circle
    Sausage Stuffer
  • circle
    Pasta Extruder
  • circle
    Pasta Roller and so on...

5 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl

The machine comes equipped with a stainless steel bowl with a capacity of 5 quarts. This capacity is enough for at least 9 dozen eggs or 7 pounds of mashed potatoes. The stainless steel bowl comes with an ergonomic handle that makes it easy for you to hold and lift without causing any hand strain.

In addition, the bowl is dishwasher safe so you do not have to worry about cleaning out the mess after a tiresome day in the kitchen.

Tilt Back Head

Also featured is a tilt-back head, which makes it easy for you to take the bowl off after you are done mixing. It also makes it easy for you to change attachments while using the same batch. This allows for easier mixing and beating!

What we like

  • Easy Maintenance: All the attachments, as well as the bowl are dishwasher safe. This makes it easy to clean up! Furthermore, the mixer comes with a Pour Shield, which ensures you do not make a mess while mixing.
  • Large Bowl Capacity: The Bowl can hold up to 5 quarts of ingredients. This counts as 11 loaves of bread, 7 pounds of mashed potatoes or 9 dozen cookies.
  • Controllable Function: Since you can control the speed from among 10-speed settings, this means you can get your ingredients to your desired consistency. The different attachments allow you to customize according to the function you want to perform.
  • Thorough Mixing: The 59-Point Planetary Action ensures you mix your ingredients thoroughly.
  • check-square-o
Small Size and Easy to Store: If you want to store it under the counter or in a small cabinet, this machine is perfect for you!

What we don't like

  • Small Spout on Shield: The spout on the one-piece flour shield is a bit small for dumping in flour or other ingredients. Therefore, it still lets flour fly out and over the bowl. A two-part shield is better and more adequate in mixing without making a mess.
  • Heavyweight: Although the size of the mixer is quite small, it is still quite heavy. At 26 pounds, it tends to be too heavy to comfortably carry around your kitchen.
  • Gray Residue: One of the most well known problems with the stainless steel bowl from Kitchen Aid, is that it tends to leave a grey residue when used. This is non-removable using an ordinary dishwasher. Instead, you have to use a lemon and salt solution or baking powder solution.
